Package 1 of the Barrier Free Accessibility (BFA) enhancement programme to further improve accessibility at existing MRT stations was secured by Expand Construction in 2008 under LTA's efforts to make our public transport facilities accessible to one and all. The enhancement programme has improved the accessibility of our MRT stations and  benefited many Singaporeans and visitors who are less mobile, including those with young children.The scope of works at these stations included the addition of lifts and other BFA enhancements on the existing infrastructure such as ramps, covered pedestrian walkways and taxi stands with wheelchair access to MRT stations.These are Braddell, Toa Payoh, Ang Mo Kio, City Hall, Queenstown, Commonwealth, Clementi, Marsiling, Admiralty, Chinese Garden, Sembawang, Woodlands, Khatib and Yio Chu Kang MRT stations
